Offley Porto Rosé is a young rosé Porto Wine, a fresh and light new flavour proposed by Offley, the prestigious brand that combines modernity with almost three centuries of experience. This new Offley Porto Rosé combines the freshness and delicacy sought in a rosé wine with the elegance and charisma normally associated with Porto Wine. Offley Porto Rosé is a versatile wine that takes Porto Wine category into yet unexplored areas.
Offley Porto Rosé has a light pink hue, with shades of violet, and a fine bouquet of tropical fruits and exotic wood. In the mouth is quite balanced and fresh, with a flavour of tropical fruits and a long and elegant finish.
Offley Porto Rosé is created following the traditional winemaking method used for rosé wines. Hand picked red grapes were de-stemmed, crushed and pressed immediately to avoid prolonged contact with the skins where colour concentrates, which originates a rose-coloured juice must. A gentle decantation follows to separate the larger particles and clarify the must before it undergoes cold fermentation. Just like in any other Porto Wine, fermentation is stopped by the addition of distilled wine alcohol or brandy, which results in a fortified wine.
The wine stays in the Douro warehouses for the Winter, after which is transferred to the cellars of V.N.Gaia, where it evolves in stainless steel vats in order to maintain its initial freshness and avoid intense oxidation. Carefully monitored and tasted, the wine evolves until its ideal maturation point, and the final wine is cold-stabilised before bottling.
The bottle should be kept upright, protected from light and humidity, at a constant temperature of 16ºC-18ºC.
Offley Porto Rosé is ready for drinking and does not require decanting. Serve chilled between 10ºC 12ºC. Once open, it should be consumed within 4 weeks.
Offley Porto Rosé makes an excellent aperitif. Serve on the rocks or enjoy as a cocktail, with tonic water, ice and lemon in a long drink glass.
