Quinta de Azevedo is a fresh, elegant wine, a fine example of the region's potential for quality.
Very attractive lemony-yellow colour with glints of green. Intense aroma typical of the Loureiro grape, orange flowers combined with nuances of citrus and minerality. It has a very slight prickle of fizz, vibrant, fresh character, and on the long, persistent finish there are notes of minerality again, along with citrus flowers.
The wine was made with the greatest care and professional attention from the best of the grapes picked at optimum ripeness. Gentle destemming, crushing and pressing was done under the protection of inert gases, and the juice was clarified to the desired degree. It then fermented at about 16ºC using native yeast QA 23 selected at Quinta de Azevedo.
After fermentation, the wine remained for 3 months on fine lees to improve and enrich flavour, aroma and body. Immediately before bottling, it was lightly fined, stabilised and filtered.
Quinta de Azevedo is already at its best one month after bottling, but it can age in a positive way for around two years. The bottle should be kept upright in a cool, dry place (10ºC to 15ºC is ideal).
Serve it cold, ideally at between 6ºC and 8ºC. Once open, it is best drunk on the same day, but will keep for a day or two in the fridge.
Ideal to go with fish, seafood, salads, pasta dishes, or just on its own.
