Alambre Moscatel de Setúbal is a DOC fortified wine that has been skillfully produced by José Maria da Fonseca for over a century. This unique wine is made from the Moscatel de Setúbal grape variety, found in the beautiful region of Península de Setúbal.
It has a light golden color with a hint of a reddish background. The aroma is a delightful mix of crystallized orange peel, apricot, and a touch of honey. On the palate, it's full of fruit, offering a full yet soft experience.
The vinification process involves stopping fermentation with the addition of brandy, and a skin contact period of 3 months. The wine is then aged in used oak, with no additional aging in the bottle necessary due to its naturally occurring oxidation process.
Serve the Alambre Moscatel de Setúbal as an aperitif at a temperature of 10ºC, or as a dessert wine at 16ºC. For optimal storage, keep the bottles at a temperature of 12ºC and 60% humidity. Owing to its natural oxidation process during aging, this wine does not progress after bottling and can be enjoyed for many years if stored properly after opening.
