Barbeito Sweet - Madeira Wine

Barbeito Doce Madeira Wine is a sweet fortified wine from Madeira, crafted by Barbeito from the Tinta Negra grape. The fruit is sourced from selected vineyards in Estreito de Câmara de Lobos and São Vicente, two well-regarded areas of the island that help shape the wine’s distinctive Madeiran character.

After harvesting, the grapes are gently pressed in a pneumatic press, and fermentation is halted with the addition of wine spirit once the desired level of sweetness is reached. This method preserves the wine’s natural richness and gives it a smooth, luscious and rounded style. In the glass, it shows an attractive brown hue, with a full body and a soft, velvety texture.

On the nose and palate, Barbeito Doce reveals generous flavours of caramel, coffee, molasses, chocolate and ripe jam. The finish is long, rich and lingering, with a pleasing sweetness that remains beautifully balanced.
