Borba - Red Wine

Borba Tinto is a red wine from Adega Cooperativa de Borba in the Alentejo region, produced from Aragonez, Syrah and Alicante Bouschet grapes. The fruit is picked in September from selected vineyard parcels, then destemmed and crushed before alcoholic fermentation. A maceration period of 6 to 10 days takes place under controlled temperatures, followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine is then matured in stainless steel vats for 6 to 12 months prior to bottling.

In the glass, this Alentejo red shows a ruby hue with violet tinges. The nose is expressive, with ripe red plum aromas to the fore. On the palate, it is smooth and well balanced, combining fresh acidity with a lingering finish and subtle bittersweet fruit notes. Easy to enjoy yet full of regional character, Borba Tinto is a versatile Portuguese red wine suited to everyday drinking and a wide range of food pairings.
