Languedoc-Roussillon, a name you don’t usually find on wine labels, refers to a region in southern France that stretches from Nîmes to the Spanish border. After its vineyards were connected by rail, demand for the region’s affordable, high-volume wines increased dramatically. It is a hot, dry region with a Mediterranean climate.
